At our school, we believe that every child deserves to feel valued, understood and successful. Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to ensuring that all children, regardless of need, background or starting point, have access to a high-quality education that enables them to thrive.
From Nursery to Year 2, we create a nurturing and inclusive environment where children's strengths, interests and individual needs are recognised and celebrated. Through strong relationships, early identification and a graduated approach to support, we work closely with families, outside agencies and specialist professionals to ensure that every child receives the provision they need to succeed.
We believe that high-quality adaptive teaching is the foundation of effective inclusion. Our staff skilfully adapts teaching, resources, communication methods, environments and expectations to remove barriers to learning. We are committed to ensuring that all children access meaningful learning experiences through responsive teaching that promotes independence, confidence and long-term success.
Alongside our ambitious whole-school curriculum, we recognise that some children require bespoke pathways to meet their individual needs. For these learners, personalised curriculum goals are carefully planned around communication, interaction, cognition and learning, physical development, sensory regulation, emotional wellbeing and independence. These bespoke pathways ensure that every child makes progress from their own starting point whilst remaining connected to the wider life of the school.
We understand the importance of sensory development and regulation in enabling children to learn successfully. Our sensory-rich approach provides opportunities for children to explore, communicate, regulate and engage through carefully designed environments, practical experiences and personalised sensory support. We recognise that children learn in different ways and provide opportunities for learning through play, exploration, movement, communication and real-life experiences.
Communication and language underpin all aspects of our provision. We are committed to helping every child find their voice, whether through spoken language, visual communication, alternative communication systems or other personalised approaches. We believe that communication is fundamental to learning, relationships, wellbeing and belonging.
Our vision is that every child leaves Year 2 with the knowledge, skills, confidence and self-belief needed for their next stage of education. Whether children transition into mainstream junior education or specialist provision, we work tirelessly to ensure they are well prepared academically, socially and emotionally for future success. Through carefully planned transitions and strong partnerships with receiving schools, we strive to ensure that every child moves on feeling confident, supported and ready to flourish.

Our School Ethos for SEN
We Care (Intent)
We are an inclusive school and welcome all pupils.
Our curriculum is progressive and adaptations are made to ensure that it meets the needs of all pupils.
Our aim is to ensure that our children are happy, included and making progress towards their individual targets.
We Help (Implementation)
For those children on the RON, we provide an adapted curriculum with scaffolded support.
Individual Provision Maps (IPMs) identify specific needs with SMART targets and provision to meet those needs.
We work collaboratively with parents and liaise with external agencies.
Individualised support is provided for pupils with an EHCP in order to facilitate personalised curriculum approaches.
A skilled SENDCo and pastoral lead are in place.
We Succeed (Impact)
Pupils are happy and enjoy coming to school.
They engage with learning and make good progress against their targets.
Where appropriate the children know how to achieve their targets.
They are ready for the next stage of their education.
Please note each outside agency that we work with will have a different eligibility and referral process, which can be given upon request from the SENDCo and in some cases information can be found online, where indicated. In many cases either the school SENDCo/SEN Team or parents can make a referral, although it is usually more effective if the school SENDCo and parents work in partnership.
