Mental Health

Welcome to our Mental Health Page!

This page is designed to support our whole school community.

At Trewirgie Infants’ School, we are committed to promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing to all children, their families and members of staff and governors. Our open culture allows children’s voices to be heard, and through the development of positive relations with both children and families we ensure a safe and supportive environment for all affected - both directly and indirectly - by mental health issues.

Our Pastoral team:

  • Mrs Bateman SENDCo and TiS Practitoner
  • Miss Vicky Mckerron Pastoral lead and Thrive Practitioner
  • Teaming teams who are emotionally available adults to all our children

If you are worried about your child's mental health please contact the class teacher who will discuss your concerns and sign post to the best support available.

The Children

We teach our children about mental health through our PSHE curriculum. Please see the PSHE section of the website. We also have regular assemblies and celebrate mental health week.

The Staff

We support staff with regular updates and training around mental health issues in children but also how to support their own mental health.

Families

Our aim is to support families by listening, supporting in school and where necessary signposting to external agencies.
